Amphipterygium adstringens (Cuachalalate)
Pancreatic/Antidiabetic Potential:
- Anti-inflammatory: Reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines, which may support pancreatic health indirectly.
- Antioxidant activity: Helps mitigate oxidative stress, which plays a role in pancreatic damage, especially in type 2 diabetes.
Scientific Studies:
- Some in vivo studies show protective effects on gastric mucosa and reduction in inflammation.
- Evidence suggests it may help modulate immune responses.
Promising adjunct for inflammation and may support pancreatic health via reduction of systemic inflammation.
Mikania glomerata (Guaco)
Pancreatic/Antidiabetic Potential:
- Contains coumarin, which has anti-inflammatory and bronchodilatory effects.
- Animal studies suggest blood sugar-lowering potential, though more clinical studies are needed.
Scientific Studies:
- Some rat studies show glucose-lowering and anti-inflammatory activity.
- May reduce oxidative stress in tissues, including the pancreas.
Potential benefit in lowering glucose levels and reducing pancreatic inflammation but requires further human trials.
Opuntia ficus-indica (Nopal / Prickly Pear Cactus)
Pancreatic/Antidiabetic Potential:
- Clinically proven to reduce blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes.
- Stimulates insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake.
- High in fiber, polyphenols, and betalains (antioxidants).
Scientific Studies:
Human and animal studies show lowered postprandial blood glucose, reduced oxidative stress, and anti-inflammatory effects.
Protects pancreatic β-cells against oxidative damage.
Strong scientific support for blood sugar regulation and pancreatic protection.
Tillandsia prodigiosa (Prodigiosa)
Pancreatic/Antidiabetic Potential:
- Used traditionally in Mexico for diabetes and liver ailments.
- Shown to lower blood glucose levels in diabetic rats.
- Contains flavonoids and phenolic compounds.
Scientific Studies:
- A 2018 study found it reduced hyperglycemia and improved pancreatic histology in diabetic rats.
- Suggested to enhance insulin sensitivity and reduce inflammation.
Emerging evidence supports blood sugar regulation and pancreatic cell protection.
Ibervillea sonorae (Wereke)
Pancreatic/Antidiabetic Potential:
- Traditionally used for type 2 diabetes and inflammation.
- Contains cucurbitacins and polyphenols.
Scientific Studies:
Animal models show hypoglycemic effects, insulin-sensitizing activity, and improved pancreatic function.
Exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions.
Well-supported for glucose regulation and protection of pancreatic β-cells, especially in early-stage diabetes.
Aristolochia trilobata (Contribo)
Amphipterygium adstringens (Cuachalalate)
Mikania glomerata (Guaco)
Opuntia ficus-indica (Nopal)
Tillandsia prodigiosa (Prodigiosa)
Ibervillea sonorae (Wereke)
Begin by boiling 16 ounces of water. We recommend using spring or distilled water for optimal results. Once boiled, add 1/4th cup of plant material to the pot (Cover pot with lid). Allow the plant material to boil in the water for 10 to 15 minutes. After, turn stove off then allow plant material too steep for 10 to 15 minutes. A longer steeping time will result in a stronger potency of the tea. After steeping, strain the tea using a mesh strainer to remove any large particles. Ensure that the tea cools down to room temperature before consumption. Pour tea in a glass cup (NOT PLASTIC). Then drink tea. You should half 2 cups drink one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Do this two to three times a week (once every other day).
Additionally, ensure adequate hydration by consuming at least 64 oz. of spring water daily.
If your stomach is sensitive and you cannot drink tea on an empty stomach. I suggest you drink the tea 1-2 hours after a meal.
STORAGE AND EXPIRATION
- The plant material can be reused twice before discarding. After the first use, store the used plant material in a glass container and refrigerate it until the second use.
- Please note that the plant material should not be refrigerated for more than 2 days.
- Dispose of the plant material in the earth, not the trash.
- Store your biodegradable container of tea in a dry, dark place until it is ready to be used.
- It is highly recommended to consume the tea within 6 months of receiving it.
*Please be advised: A well-balanced diet is required for maximum effectiveness; otherwise, you'll neutralize the effects or only reap minimal benefits.

Powders & loose teas
Should be refrigerated after opening for longest freshness and potency.
Tinctures & capsules
Do not need to be refrigerated but should be stored in a cool, dark location (out of direct light).
This will ensure longest freshness and potency. Date reflected on the bottom of the bottle is the standard "expiration" date. If stored properly these products will last far beyond the recommended expiration date.
We take great pride in our packing and order accuracy, executing a multi-step accountability process to ensure your order is assembled with great care and is 100% correct!
We are also very mindful in our packaging and do our best to ensure your products arrive undamaged. Our liquid and capsule formulas are sold in amber bottles to protect the herbs inside from light. Glass bottles add to the shipping weight of the item but also ensures you receive the best possible and most potent product. In addition to the items themselves, the shipping weight also depends upon the packaging we use to protect the items during transport, and the dimensional weight of the package (because shippers using air services pay transportation fees based on the amount of space they rent).
